This only affects some of the games included, and are not game breaking, but It’s very odd that better care was not taken to iron out these issues before release. It certainly is not the hardware that is affecting these titles, so this is definitely due to poor emulation.
Games like Missile Command, Millipede, and the Real Sports series all have graphical and technical glitches that can hamper the gameplay. Most notably, are the games from the Atari 5200 system. I say that most of these games play like the originals, but there are few games that did not fare well during their HD revival. These extras are very limited, but do add a little something to the collection. With so many control options, playing these games is super-intuitive.
For the record, I controlled these games by holding my finger underneath the paddle so I could see all the onscreen action and it works beautifully. Not only that, games that used paddle controllers now allow you to simply touch the screen so you can slide your finger in order to control the game. Plus, playing it portably allows you to rotate the display so you can enjoy the games vertically.
Of course, you can play it on the big screen or on-the-go which is awesome. One thing that Atari Flashback Classics for Switch does exceptionally well is thoroughly utilize the console’s capabilities. Those with a soft spot for retro games will have a ton of fun while hardcore classic gamers will absolutely love the ability to play plenty of unreleased prototypes and other rarities.
